Toning & moisturising pads meant for sensitive skin with redness or inflammation, laded with soothing Azulene and chamomile water.
What is Azulene?
Extracted from chamomile, azulene oil is known to reduce inflammation in the skin tissue. This happens when the immune system releases chemicals to combat infections or to protect the skin from being attacked by foreign molecules. The chemicals which are found in azulene inhibit the actions of the immune system, resulting in a reduction in redness and swelling. These anti-inflammatory properties found in azulene, have led to its inclusion in formulas which treat acne. It will help to alleviate the redness from the blemishes, allowing the complexion to clear up more quickly and will decongest the area. Azulene is also used in skin serums, creams, lotions and moisturisers which have been developed to ease stressed and damaged skin.
Azulene is also an antioxidant. This means it has the ability to shield and protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals. As much as we wish it would, azulene cannot prevent the skin from aging. It can however, help to minimise the symptoms associated with mature skin and reduce the likelihood that fine lines and wrinkles will develop prematurely. By neutralising free radicals, azulene can also help prevent the cellular damage that causes skin to discolour sun exposure.
